Personally I think most fitness centers are boring and do not really motivate me to be active…. Sure they have a ton of equipment and utilities you can use at your own leisure, but the thing is it feels like going to fitness center or gym here in Naples really only has one purpose: to sculpt your body. Which isn’t such a bad thing, it definitely feels good to be able to take your shirt off at the beach without hearing giggles… but that isn’t enough for me to stick with it.

So instead I prefer Taekwondo and BJJ for my fitness needs here in Naples. Instead of simply just lifting weights or sitting on a bicycle that goes nowhere, you get to condition yourself both mentally and physically making it a much more dynamic / complex fitness program. The workout you get is actually pretty intense, however you do not even notice it because of how captivating the discipline is. Classes are about an hour long, but it seriously feels like five minutes have gone by when class is finally over. I remember on Friday I was in class for BJJ and there was a moment when me and Mr. Freeman looked up at the clock and were both completely shocked that class was already over. Mr. Freeman turned to me and said, “Wow I can’t believe it is already 7:30!”

If you are like me, you like to have goals in your fitness training. Both Taekwondo and BJJ provide goals for you based on your level and progress in class. The higher your level, the higher the goals are for the next testing period that become more and more demanding both physically and mentally as you grow and develop with the class.

I would like to know why you favor Taekwondo and BJJ as your source of fitness training and development here in Naples, FL?

Just leave your answer in the comments :)
